Meet Marcus

Marcus started Mortgage Ability as a way to bring his experience in financial services and his passion for financial literacy, together. After 29 years as a wholesale money broker, he began volunteering as a budget advisor with the Wellington Citizens Advice Bureau. It wasn’t long before Marcus realised that many homeowners could save money on their mortgages with just a few minor adjustments.

Marcus is passionate about helping clients get into the best financial position possible throughout their home ownership journey. He looks beyond finding the lowest mortgage rate (which often only delivers short-term gains). Instead, he focuses on understanding each client's money style and their overall goals. By understanding whether they like to spend or save, and how much money they might need to draw down on in the future, he can find the best financial product for their needs.

Marcus has a deep understanding of financial markets and how the Reserve Bank is likely to respond to fluctuations. His insights help clients make informed decisions around their mortgage long term.

our values

We're part of your journey

Our relationship is ongoing. Changes to your lifestyle, whether that’s renovations, a boost in salary or new addition to the family, mean we can work to your current and future goals.

We see the bigger picture

We think beyond competitive rates. The right mortgage products can often be more effective for reducing interest or optimising your mortgage payments without penalisation.

We provide financial clarity

While we have a deep understanding of financial markets and mortgage products, our aim is to make understanding these changes and how they impact you as simple as possible.
